Will older USB GPS Locator work with new MS Streets & Trips?
dave u
Will the GPS receiver from Microsoft Streets and Trips 2006 work with the 2007 software? I lost my GPS unit for 2007.

I've used the same GPS puck since Streets & Trips 2004. I believe all the MS units are NMEA protocol, and should work with any version of the software. The newer locators use updated chip sets, and are more sensitive.

Note, however, that the 2007 GPS receiver was a substantial upgrade from the 2006 receiver. You can certainly make do with a 2006, but you may want to try and buy a better GPS receiver off eBay.

Thanks for the info.

I have an older version (2007) of Microsoft Streets and Trips and I have GPS locator (ZV3-00013) that came with it. Will that Locator work with S & T 2009 or 2010?

Larry
Hi William,

Welcome to the forum!

If the GPS locator worked in 2007 it will work in 2010.

Will the 2006 Microsoft GPS Locator work with the new version of Streets and Trips with GPS Locator?

If you are referring to the antenna/receiver then yes it works with the newer version.

If I have Streets & Trips 2004 version, and a buy the new 2010 version, is 1005 compatible the USB antenna GPS?

If your question is 'is S&T 2010 compatible with a USB GPS that works with S&T 2004', then yes.

Another question, what you prefer a GPS System or a LAPTOP WITH S&T?

I go to open a business of repair computer and I need GPS. I have a laptop, I find the Streets & Trips 2010 for 40 dollars, but I see all the GPS system cost 120+

You have to take into account the laptop must be mounted somewhere in your vehicle that it is easy to read and convenient to use. If you can do this, a laptop is a good idea. You need to buy the version of S&T 2010 that comes with a GPS receiver though.

Sorry, I forgot you already have a GPS receiver.

I think for planning day to day work for small business use, S&T is hard to beat. You will probably find usefull the possibility to plan ahead your stops and optimize them to save driving time if you drive many stops a day for delivery...
