It seems to contain numerous bug fixes:

What compiler they use for their map?

As far as I know they are using the Garmin developer tools. I forgot that I was supposed to confirm that in another thread. I'll check with the developer and see if I can get confirmation of what tools they are using.

I would say that the following makes it likely that they're using cgpsmapper:

cgpsmapper has a known issue where mixed case road/creek/trail names do not display properly on the older models listed above. If a road is named "John Smith Rd", on these older models it will appear as "J--- S---- R-" where dashes replace the lowercase letters in the name.

The only fix that I know of is to convert the text of the road names to uppercase. This will make them display properly on the old units, and on newer units the first letter of each word will be capitalized and the other letters will be converted to lowercase automatically by the unit software.
