Fixed: Streets & Trips stops responding at the startup screen in Windows 7
Hey folks,

If you are one of those who try to start Microsoft Streets & Trips 2010 or Microsoft Streets & Trips 2011 on a computer that is running an x64-based version of Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and it stops responding at the startup screen if the processor on the computer supports the Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) feature (aka Hangs on Splash screen)...

Grab the fix here:

Nice one Larry! I recall numerous users talking about the start up issue here on the forum. Thanks to S&T Team for fixing it.

I see no mention of AutoRoute on the linked page. Wasn't AutoRoute affected, too? If yes, will the fix work for AutoRoute users?
The S&T can't take the credit for this fix. It was truly a Windows bug that affected S&T and so they were the ones to fix it. I believe the fix would be for S&T, MP and AutoRoute but I haven't heard much feedback coming from the other applications.

S&T Team didn't fix it, but chances are you guys have given the Windows people your feedback. Thanks for that!
Yes the Hot Fix also applies for MapPoint NA, MapPoint EUR and AutoRoute.

Thanks for the confirmation, Gladwin. And long time no see; welcome back!
Thanks Marvin :-)
Hello Larry. The problem I'm dealing with is exactly the one you describe. Does the Hotfix work for my Autoroute 2007 too, and exactly what file shall I download, only Streets and Trips is mentioned. I have Win7 64 bit with service-pack 1 installed.
Hhuus - this hotfix will work to fix AutoRoute or MapPoint (NA or EUR) or S&T. Give'r a try and let us know how it worked.
This hotfix also worked for me. I'm running Autoroute 2011 on a Windows 7 64 bit Vm under OSX10 using Parallels. Thanks for the tip and fix.

I have the same problem, but I am running Windows XP SP3. Does this patch work there?
