iGuidance retail version no longer being developed
Marvin Hlavac
The development of the retail version of iGuidance is being discontinued, and iNav/Intellinav/Netropa is going to concentrate on the version of the product for the government and corporate clients.

Customers who contacted iNav in recent days received the following reply:
Quote:
There is no plan to release newer version at this time, and we may no longer support retail version.

Thank you.

Yesterday, March 6, 2012, iNav posted on its website the following single-sentence announcement:
Quote:
iGuidance retail version no longer being developed
The current (last) version of the navigation software for the PC platform is iGuidance 2011. The 2011 version was only released for the PC platform, as the PDA version was discontinued a year and a half earlier.

iGuidance 2009 was the last version which still introduced new features.

On March 5, iNav announced the following:
Quote:
iNav Corporation will no longer support development of iGuidance retail version in order to focus on corporate/gov volume licensing products. Email support for retail version will be honored for all orders which are still within one year of original online purchase date.

I'll bet that one guy who launched that 'boring tirade' would be real thrilled to know that.
Marvin Hlavac
Yeah, I bet he would. ;-)

This sucks! First Mapopolis, now iGuidance.

What's a good alternative? I really liked the simple 2D screen and the live-address search with a large on-screen keyboard is great. I'm not a big fan of Streets & Trips as you need to enter the exact spelling of an address - iGuidance gave you a list of streets as you typed in each letter.

Take a look at CoPilot - it has those features.

Will do! Thanks!
