CoPilot version cross reference
GoneNomad
Dieselboss posted this elsewhere, so this is as good a starting point as any:

It doesn't help either that they jumped all over with the numbering scheme.
Here is how it went:
1. TravRoute Door-to-Door
2. CoPilot laptop 3
3. CoPilot laptop 4
4. CoPilot laptop 9
5. CoPilot 10 and 11 simultaneously
6. CoPilot 9 for Android
7. CoPilot 9 for iOS
And this screen capture from the CoPilot support page lists some versions:

I see there's a CoPilot Live 7 listed above.

I also ran across the .PDF manual (which is illustrated, unlike their current online manuals) for Copilot Live Laptop 10, but it's too big to post on here.

I guess the first clarification needed is, what was the first version of CoPilot laptop that used the "new" numbering scheme? They show CoPilot Live Laptop 11 above... was the next laptop version after 11 CoPilot Live v8 Laptop?

Ya, I never saw 7. It was not a truck version for sure then. Yes, 8 was the latest after 11. So here it is revised:

1. TravRoute Door-to-Door
2. CoPilot laptop 3
3. CoPilot laptop 4
4. CoPilot laptop 7 apparently...
5. CoPilot laptop 9 (last "laptop-only" version)
6. CoPilot Laptop 10 and Laptop 11 simultaneously (10 was non-truck) (first version ported to mobile non-phone devices)
7. CoPilot Laptop 8 (also ported to mobile and first version ported to smartphone devices)
8. CoPilot 9 for Android
9. CoPilot 9 for iOS

Also remember that in most cases there were multiple versions of each release (typically "Truck and non-truck")
GoneNomad
OK, Laptop 10 was non-truck, Laptop 11 was for trucks, both otherwise the same (which is why they were released simultaneously)

Hmmmm... after I clicked on this link
http://www.copilotlive.com/us/support/faq-cl7.asp
it became pretty clear that CoPilot Live 7 is for smartphones only
(note that it doesn't say "laptop" and CoPilot Live 7 is in the FAQ list above CoPilot Live Laptop 11),
so that explains why you didn't see it.

So I guess they released CoPilot Live 7 after Laptop 11, and after that they decided to re-align the numbering schemes with version 8 (laptop and smartphone).

Holy smokes, they have problems applying common sense to basic things like naming their software versions.
They should have noticed that everyone else includes at least a mention of the operating system in the name. but since they seem to have ignored a lot of other things too, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Aaaah. Well that explains why I wasn't doing anything with 7 then. It wasn't a port of a laptop version but instead the original phone-only version it looks like.
GoneNomad
...so the version 10 laptop that I managed to "find" is two versions back from the current laptop version, and three versions back from the current iOS/Android version.

Correction: 10 laptop was the version before the current laptop version, which is v8 laptop, and v8 laptop is older than the current iOS/Android version (as we all know by now).

Well, version 10/11 (again non-truck and truck version numbers of the same release) is one version ago for laptop. Current Laptop version is 8, but I suspect it will be 9 again before the year is out.
GoneNomad
OOOPS! You're right, the next-to-latest version is the 2nd version only if the current version is the 1st version. My counting scheme was not straightforward, and I expressed it poorly.
DieselBoss
1. TravRoute Door-to-Door
2. CoPilot laptop 3
3. CoPilot laptop 4
4. CoPilot laptop 7 apparently...
5. CoPilot laptop 9 and 10 simultaneously (10 is non-truck) (last "laptop-only" version)
6. CoPilot Laptop 11 (first version ported to mobile non-phone devices)
7. CoPilot Laptop 8 (also ported to mobile and first version ported to smartphone devices)
8. CoPilot 9 for Android
9. CoPilot 9 for iOS

Revised that 9 and 10 were at the same time verses 10 and 11.
GoneNomad
...except that CoPilot laptop 7 was for smartphones, but that one evidently came after version 11 laptop.
So I guess maybe they must have had an older version 8 for laptops too and a version 7 laptop before that.
Or maybe they just don't like using sequential numbers like the rest of the western world.
DieselBoss
1. TravRoute Door-to-Door
2. CoPilot laptop 3
3. CoPilot laptop 4
4. CoPilot laptop 9 and 10 simultaneously (10 is non-truck) (last "laptop-only" version)
5. CoPilot Laptop 11 (first version ported to mobile non-phone devices)
6. CoPilot 7 for smartphone
7. CoPilot Laptop 8 (also ported to mobile)
7. CoPilot 9 for Android
8. CoPilot 9 for iOS

Revised again.
