Garmin Mobile PC alternative...
wav
Ok I bought BU-353 (not w/s4) my only concern... my Garmin 20x is still working w/ Mobile PC and I don't want to cause a conflict. Not that I'd have them plugged in at the same time but is there anything I should know/read before loading it with gpsgate?
Or should they be independent and I shouldn't worry about it.
Thanks!

Connect only the BU-353 and let GPS Gate find it. Then it will not look for your 20x as it stays dedicated to one input as long as you don't tell it differently.

Just in case Mobile PC has trouble finding your 20x, you can stop GPS Gate (which also creates a Garmin compatible COM port), exit GPS Gate before you start Mobile PC by right clicking the GPS Gate icon in the notification bar and choosing Exit. Or choose Settings and close the BU-353 input port.

On some previous tests we did, it was found that Mobile PC keeps a record in the registry of where it last found its GPS.

As I have everything you do except the 20x (I have a BT 10x), I set up a test. I used the GPS Wizard to let it find my BU-353. With that running, I turned on the 10x and started Mobile PC. As I expected from thos previous tests, Mobile PC found and selected the 10x completely ignoring GPS Gate and its COM ports.

You will probably see the same results so there may be no need to worry about GPS Gate once it is set up.

I almost forgot why I went through that last test. You had mentioned nRoute previously and I think that is where GPS Gate came up.

I set up nRoute using the COM port listed on GPS Gate's Output tab as a Garmin emulator. Then I started Mobile PC using its own 10x GPS and both functioned fine. The cord on my BU-353 could not reach a window from this desk so GMPC shows a better signal but...
