I was just wondering if anyone has experience with this app. It's pricey, but I like the looks of the features that it has.

Centrafuse is one of the popular front-end software programs in the CarPC community. It integrates/controls variety of functions/programs of a PC, such as navigation software, MP3 software, etc.

The idea behind front-end software is that it makes your computer screen look like a professionally designed built-in dashboard unit in high-end cars.

I really like the idea of combining the navigation and music (XM & MP3) into one unit. When the navigation needs to announce something, it mute's the music, announces, then resumes the music.

I just wonder how good the navigation part really is though.

Centrafuse uses Destinator navigation software, and users have managed to embed other GPS navigation programs into Centrafuse, too. I think people like to use iGuidance with it, and I think MS AutoRoute / MS Streets & Trips. Other programs may be embedded, too.

Using the trial version, I embedded iGuidance into it. I like it except for the fact that Centrafuse doesn't mute the music when iGuidance announces directions.

I thought there was some third-party software people use to mute sound of one application, while other (GPS) application is talking. I don't recall the name of the utility software, though.
