Current position at bottom rather than middle

We are usually interested in what lies ahead, not so much back or to the sides. My marine programs allow me to position my boat at the bottom of the screen as opposed to the middle. Smarter. Also my Garmin allows me to rotate to the long axis up, which gives me a farther ahead view. Both smart moves that MS could look at.
The constant incompatibility of files from one version to the next is a retardant to us upgrading yearly, not the money spent. MS, you should understand money. I gave up forever on Sony in cameras for that exact same reason: constant incompatibilities with others and even themselves from product to product. What starts as a move to try to induce people to buy newer products ends up on the customer giving up on you altogether.

To bad you don't have a computer that can display in portrait mode. S&T will still work.

Thank you. I never thought of that. 1 of 2 problems solved.

I don't believe it is a problem to read files only one or two versions old. The problem comes up when you try to jump several versions. I guess the best approach is to update all your files each time you upgrade. Or at least keep an intermediate version of S&T available so you can handle the ones you really need and forget about.
