Streets and Trips Remove Hyperlink
Poodle Express
Have no idea how, but I added this to a map and now can not delete it. Properties show it as a Hyperlink? Map always opens on this spot rather than full map. It is a very large map so I don't want to have to redraw all of it. THANKS!

Right clicking on pushpins, waypoints, etc. should produce a popup menu. There should be an option for Delete on there?
Poodle Express
Thanks winwead, the "cut" on that menu is grayed out and does not work.

Poodle:

I recommend you either attach the file to a reply (Go Advanced/Additional Options/Attach Files) and one of us will figure it out for you, or if you prefer send it to me in an email (steve at OnTimeZone dot com) and I'll take a look at it.

Well, I took a look at it and can't see why that was happening. I've never seen that problem before.

It seems to be a "poltergeist" pushpin. You can't copy it, can't delete it, can't move it... it doesn't even show up in a pushpin set.

I'm stumped. Maybe somebody else has an idea. I'd call it an internally damaged file, though I can't guess what caused it.

I copy/pasted all of your pushpin sets, and exported/imported your route in GPX, and attached the result to this reply. The phantom pushpin is gone but I am not sure if the route details are all preserved - they should be but I'd check it carefully before using it.

Looks like a fun trip - I hope you have a good time!

Thanks for all your help! Did not find the attached files here, seems having those would be a great place to start redoing everything.

Huh - thought I uploaded it. Let me try again.

I added time zone borders for you... if they are distracting they are easy enough to select and delete.

I'd really like to see an answer to this one myself. I'm using S&T 2013 and can't delete Hyperlinks like this either.

I know exactly how they got there, I just can't delete them. I can get the link on a map by:

Find - Place/Data
Type in a place - try Holiday Inn Express, Marina, CA
Click Find

In this example 2 results will be listed:

Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites (hotel),,,,,
Howard Johnson Inn- Marina(hotel)

If you double click one of the entries the hyperlink will be displayed on the map with no way of deleting it.

Thanks for that t923347, all this time I thought I did something very wrong or had a bug in the system.
Poodle Express
Thanks SteveJonesMO it looks like you fixed it, the only thing missing is the schedule and that is really easy!!

The icon (hyperlink?) is there left from your earlier search. To delete it, simply click the Display Search Results menu button (Ctrl+K), and then click the Clear button.
Poodle Express
Thanks Marvin Hlavac that fixed it!!!! I have been pulling my hair out for weeks, and now that you solved it, it all seems so easy. Great Work Thanks!!!!

A new question (sorry to be a pest)

Is there any way to sort my POI's in the legend view? I copied some from the MegaFile at differant times and now thay are hard to locate.

Wow, never used that feature before, thanks Marvin! I've always just used the "Find Nearby Places".

It sure is a bit fussy... you better say "Gas Station" instead of just "Gas" or you just get noise.

And it looks as if the correct results are always stored in the top row marked "Businesses", followed by scads of geographically unrelated results from all over the globe, apparently chosen due to some linguistic algorithm. Very noisy!

And if you clear the search results, the most recent search term is not cleared from the label bar at the top of the search results pane until you close and re-open the file. Odd and possibly confusing, but not a problem I guess.

But sure enough, the help text explains the OP's problem quite specifically:

Quote:
  • Unlike regular Streets & Trips pushpins, the pushpins created from search results cannot be moved, deleted, or renamed.
  • Search result pushpins do not appear as pushpin sets in the Legend and overview pane.
Once a user adapts to these quirks, this is a nice feature.
