I just got a response from ALK concerning the availability of the HORRIBLY needed patches for ALK CoPilot 11. Here is the email I sent to them, along with their response:

I apologize, but unfortunately the update has been delayed indefinitely. Once I know when we will have a fix, you will be contacted.

Subject: Re: CoPilot 11 Issues

Is there an update to the ETA for the patch for CoPilot 11? I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous. A company doesn't have to wait until they figure out every little thing wrong before they issue one patch to cover everything. Release patches to fix individual things on it.

I've been waiting since I received this program to use it. But, with this huge delay first in releasing the program itself and now with the patch, I'm sorry, but you're driving me away from EVER purchasing another ALK product.

Also, I speak to a number of other truck drivers online and in person. When they ask me now what software I'd recommend for them to run for navigation, I always tell them to run Microsoft Streets & Trips.

If your company isn't worried about losing it's customer base - fine - stop marketing it as a product with great support and made for trucks - it's NOT.
So, they've officially lost me as a customer. I'll be purchasing Centrafuse in the next week or so.

malaki86, thanks for posting it. What exactly was supposed to be in the patch? If I recall correctly they said they would bring back the custom POI function, then there was a mention of ALK CoPilot not running well on AMD CPU (what were the issues?), and lastly an issue with some wide-screen resolutions.

What was the most significant issue(s) for you personally?

I can't remember all of the issues, but there quite a few of them. In the "Released" post, it's got them all covered in there. Myself, I had 7 or 8 pretty big issues about it.

What drives me absolutely insane about it is the fact that they're not even putting out small patches. They can take care of one issue at a time. They did the exact same thing with version 9. They released one patch for it almost 9 months after it was released.

I had the same dramas and issues and patch promises with Copilot laptop 10 for suckers for over a year now - they denied any issues were from copilot, had me reinstalling as the fix all. release One patch midlife, then 1 year after release 11 (bet it is 10 with newer maps but same issues). Sorry I did post more and prevent others like yourself wasting time and money on ALks CoPilot.

You can get a laptop front end legal and free from Ninjas Map Monkey website, you need to purchase the map data ( I paid 50 ozi bucks for Australian maps and a MMonkey copy, i think it was called Navigator)

I am playing with a hacked up Destinator 7 for PC that I'm lovin and Ive read of others using Destinator with Centrafuse that are having positive results.

I've switched to using Centrafuse, which uses Destinator as well. The only problem I have with the navigation is the fact that the North American maps are cut into regions. The cross-region routing is horrible.
