How to make pushpins (all of them) bigger in Microsoft Streets & Trips?
perry59
Is there a way to make pushpins (all of them) bigger? With my tablet (even though its 11") they are very small and hard to see, even harder to click on (even with a stylus)!

You can create your own pushpins in various graphics programs such as Paint or Photoshop. You create your own custom icon and then you can import it into Streets and Trips under the "import custom symbols" under properties of any pushpin set.

See example attached.

It is interesting you ask this; most people ask for smaller.

I guess I'm older than most the people here
I knew it was possible to create custom pushpin graphics but was hoping to avoid that, hoping there was just some hidden setting somewhere that would increase size of all pushpin icons. Oh well, guess I'll have to go with a custom graphic.
thanks for the tip!

One more pushpin question:
is there an easier way to edit pushpin data other than clicking individual pushpins on the map?
It would be nice if I could open up a table that contained all the pushpins in a given set and scroll through them and edit them there.

Yes, that would be lovely.

I guess it depends on what data you want to edit. If it is a common hyperlink for the entire set, you can modify that in Properties for the set.

Otherwise, you can create a GPX file by /Data/Export to GPX, open that in Excel (or other spreadsheet program), editing as you please, then save as an XLS file, and finally opening that file by /Data/Import GPX file.

Other than that, you might want to add it as a wishlist item elsewhere on the Forum.

I was afraid of that!
thanks

It's quite easy in Paint to re-scale pushpins, as I did with the attachment above.

Take a screenshot of your desktop showing some pushpins, paste what you've saved in Paint, and then crop them individually. Now use [ctrl-w] to resize the image and save it. It takes seconds.

And pushpin bitmaps can be up to 256 x 256 pixels - ie. quite large.
