Copilot v.8 Laptop not working in Windows 8.1
klode784
Hi, I bought Copilot last august and can't get it to work with my Windows 8.1 tablet. I have tried Streets and Trips 2009 and PC Navigator and they both works. So, Copilot should just work. Anybody else had this issue and found a workaround? I really prefer Copilot over Streets and Trips 2009.

Thanks,

Claude

I seem to recall there were 2 versions - one each for 32 bit and 64 bit - if you are speaking of CoPilot Live v8 Laptop. I know I have the 32 bit version installed successfully on a 32 bit version of Windows 8.1. However I haven't tried it on a 64 bit one. I think I have the 64 bit of Copilot around here somewhere and might give it a try.

Hi, my tablet is Lenovo Miix 2 8 and the O/S is 32 bits. So I downloaded the 32 bits software from Copilot website.

It installs fine but when I start it, it finds the gps and stays at GPS found, calculating your position...

What GPS are you using. On my Dell, CoPilot works perfectly with several Bluetooth GPS. Possibly your GPS is not getting a fix and you have to move the GPS to have a clear view of the sky.

Try clicking on the Determining Current Position message. You should have a button then to show how many satellites are found.

Here it is with a BT iTrek M7 on my Dell Venue8 Pro running Win 8.1 32bit.

I plugged in a BU 353 S4 and asked CoPilot to find it. Took a short time but it works ok. I caught a screenshot before it had determined the location.

Hi, clicking on the message I can see 5 or 6 satellites. So, I guess it should be more than enough to find my actual position.

Edit: This is what I have so far. Been in my vehicle for few hours and it stays like this all the time.
