Streets & Trips installation fails after C++ installation
flintlok
I tried to install s&t 2011 version 11 (I have the disk and activation code) and it won't install on my new laptop running Windows 7 64bit version. It says it needs a C++ file and tries to install it, but installation quits. Any ideas? I also tried downloading the 2011 version, and installing it with the idea that I could put in the activation code, but it hang with the same message. Anyone have any ideas or should I just give up an purchase the 2013 version?

Having the same problem using the same 2011 S&T, and Win7 64bit.
Also get the same error message. Can somebody please help.

The actual Visual C++ file on the computer is a newer dated file.
I spent some time trouble shooting this on Microsoft web sight.
Alot of info on the C++ errors, but nothing about this problem with S&T 2011.

Here's a work around I found on the Microsoft Forum site. It works for both my 2011 and 2013 version

Thanks for finding a work a round.

How about post the link to the page.
The small type is kind of hard for my old eyes to read.

I guess that's why they stopped streets and trips. I have now downloaded it twice and working on a third. It's on my system but shows no way to open. If you can help, I would appreciate.

I forgot to mention that my system is 8.1 windows with explorer

Maybe you could give us a hint of what version of S&T you are trying to use and what problem you are having. S&T 2013 works fine on Win 8.1 64 bit. I can't remember trying it on my 32 bit system but suspect it would also load properly.

Thanks tcassidy. my system is also 64 bit. I downloaded the 2013 version but can't seem to open. It does open s window called Street2013. It shows programs and modified dates but I find no way to open. I see no erroe message either. I may have to remove and forget it.

You might want to look for a file in that folder called Streets.exe and launch that.

If you don't show the extensions ( e.g. 'exe'), go to folder options and the View tab. Remove the check mark from 'Hide extensions for known file types' and OK out of that box.

Tcassidy Tried these with no success. On the street2013 there was a setup-ST.exe Won't setup.
In folder file Hide extensions was not checked.
I have redownloaded several times. still can't open. This is a trial download, maybe that is part of the problem. Thanks for trying Jesse Weaver

If you have tried it before on that computer you may have gone past the allowed free time for the trial. Its a lot shorter than it used to be.
