Installing CoPilot software & maps onto an SD card
Alfa916
Hi guys,

I would like to know if it is possible to install the CoPilot software & maps onto a SD card as opposed to the device internal memory. I ask as I have a Pioneer AVH-X7500BT in my car with a sat nav addon. This addon has NO internal memory so therefore the program has to be installed & run off a SD card. The addon came with iGo Primo, which I'm not a fan of.

First you would have to find a version of CoPilot that was compatible with the Pioneer. What operating system does it use?

I can confirm that the version of copilot is v7 Windows edition for PDA's & mobile phones. How can I confirm what the actual O/S on the pioneer headunit is? I think it's a Windows based system due to the style of system warning popups I've had, they look very identical to Windows. I can navigate to the firmware settings page on the headunit, but then i'm at a loss.

Sounds like Windows CE but I don't know for sure. Unless ALK offers a version of CoPilot for the Pioneer you probably can't get there from here!

Windows CE was my first guess. But their web site says they'll do auto nav on QNX, Linux, Windows and more. So it might be a portable version of Windows (Windows-embedded). They even have an iPhone app.
