Does any USB GPS work with Windows 10 offline maps?

Ok evalution build 11099 just came out today, so i downloaded that. And retried everything out. Google earth now works, but when i set it to com 6 which it gives me a location of 0 lat and 0 long. but gps info gives me my home lat long. So i reset gpsinfo to reverse driver com5. Google picks it ups as com6 and gives me my correct position so Google earth is now working the way i want it to. Windows 10 offline maps still does not work. Memory maps is also working properly on com 6 so i am happy with the results.

Did you look in Device Manager? I bet the GPS is actually on Com 6 and Google is using it directly. You probably didn't need GPSDirect after all.

I hope you know that if you move the BU 353 to a different USB port, its driver will be installed again with a new Com port assignment. Therefore, if you have more than one USB port, connecting the GPS to each will assign a different Com port. Each time you reuse an USB port, the Com port associated with it will become available but not the ones assigned to unused USB ports. Clear as mud...right!

Download http://turboirc.com/gps7/ (GPS Complete.)
Install the software

Verify that your attached USB GPS is working with any other program.
You must find the com port and baud rate the GPS is operating at, Mine was Com 3 @4800
You can select the Sensor On/Off items from the "Tests" menu. This will show GPSDirect (and all other sensors you might have). Click on GPSDirect and it will show the values that it gets from your hardware.
Now From the "COM Port Driver" menu, select "Install":
Select all the GPS Sentences and Hit OK
I'm using a BU-353/ BU-358 USB GPS
Microsoft Maps works offline for me on both a win 10 PC and a $100 Walmart RCA Win 10 Tablet.

Where you able to get gps locations in satellite view offline maps? I downloaded the latest build 15007 yesterday and tried it out. Google seems to be supported with this build.

I have followed your instructions. Using Windows 10. My GPS works with another application. My GPS is BU-353S4. But the tests are not working. Any advice. Thanks!

Hello,
I tried GSPComplete SW and it looks, that it works with LD-3W GPS module in W10.
But what I dont understand is their Evaluation.... did anyone else know, which functions i can use withou paying?
Thanks
tcassidy
It is only called an evaluation version possibly for legal reasons. There is nothing to pay for in the version you downloaded. And it doesn't appear to expire.

I have franson gpsgate but I cant find a maps app that asks to connect to anything other than the computer factory location
tcassidy
GPS Gate can't provide the internal Windows Location from an external GPS unit. Only the other way around. To use an external GPS to provide Windows Location information for Windows map apps that require that, you will probably need to use GPS Complete as listed above.

Gpsgate runs just fine and works with other programs like grlevelx and spotternet, but I've downloaded gpscomplete but cant find a link to try gps reverse.
