Does CoPilot Truck/RV show steep grades?
GoneNomad
I looked through the manual .PDF but can't anything about this so I assume CoPilot Truck/RV does not display any info about steep grades?

Version 9 shows Elevation, but not grades, assuming you mean like "13% downgrade" type of message on the screen.

Thanks, and yep, that's what I meant. I'd like to see color-coded warning indicators along with similar grade percentages as shown on the roadside signs.

Elevation data is readily available in online mapping, but grade steepness is not.

The only trip planner I've found so far that shows any indication of grade steepness is Furkot.com, which can display a graph like this one:

...which unfortunately does not really translate intuitively into (for example) the difference between a long mild 3.5% grade and a 7% grade that's half as long.

This graph is available for each route segment (between waypoints) so I guess by isolating the route segments down to shorter sections, a user might eventually be able to interpret grade steepness just by looking at a graph like this.

I recently noticed this comparison chart that shows both CoPilot Truck and the Euro "Caravan" RV version have a steep grade warning
(last section, item #6: Steep incline/decline).

Don, is that feature not actually present in CoPilot Truck?

Even the older model Garmin RV 660 as well as the newer RV 770 & dēzl 770 have "Route Warnings" that include elevation & grade steepness, e.g.:

Do the current Rand McNally units have anything like this?
Would you still rate them as highly (compared to the above Garmin units, or CoPilot) as you did in May 2015?

I would certainly prefer an app rather than a PND (thus the interest in CoPilot Truck) but am considering all options that provide useful steep grade warnings.
