2006 Pocket Streets on a Moto Q9h

I recently installed my 2006 Pocket Streets on my Motorola Moto Q9h Global cell phone that has Windows Mobile 6 on it. When I go to connect to my Bluetooth GPS this is what it says when I go to "Start" under the GPS section of Pocket Streets...

"this phone does not contain the Microsoft bluetooth manager, which is required to connect to a bluetooth gps device"

This phone still has the bluetooth manager, but I think it has just been moved to a different spot or it newer.

Any ideas on how to get this to work with my phone?!

Motorola uses a non-Microsoft Bluetooth Manager. You should ask your question on one of the more technical cell phone boards, but don't be too hopeful. You should expect to purchase other mapping software for your smartphone, now that Pocket Streets has been discontinued.

This is one of the major annoyances of the Windows Mobile platform, actually. You can't depend on OS functionality to be there on every phone. Random stuff is missing or disabled -- the GPS intermediate driver, Remote Desktop, create new file in Pocket Word and Excel, etc.

Your current phone will work with your Bluetooth unit, just not with Pocket Streets. Most other smartphone navigation packages will work since they do not depend on the Microsoft Bluetooth Manager.

Most other phones use the Microsoft Bluetooth Manager. Any of the HTC phones, Samsung Blackjack (1 or 2), etc.

Not many of us around here are much familiar with hardware and software solutions for phones. This website focuses on laptop GPS solutions. You may try iGuidance, the PPC version, but first check compatibility of the software with your device.

The Motorola Q runs Windows Mobile Smartphone Edition, not Pocket PC Edition. It is therefore not compatible with iGuidance. There really aren't that many options for Windows Mobile smartphones, unfortunately.

That's true . And I wouldn't know what GPS navigation software there still is that would run on Smartphones . Perhaps there is some forum that specializes on Smartphones, or Motorola, that would be of help.
