"Live" Don't work in my ALK CoPilot Live Laptop 8

I've got CoPilot Live Laptop 8 and was trying to get the "Live" part to work. In the FAQs on their support site I found a note to change the msg.cfg file to point to another server - "ListenerIP"="gateway03.alk.com"
I did that but still no connection. Any suggestions?

I haven't had any luck with the "Live" feature since about 2 months after I received CoPilot 9 when it was first released. Using it in CoPilot 11 causes the program to crash. I've talked to tech support on multiple occasions but it hasn't done any good whatsoever.

When I try to use it in CoPilot 9 (I've pretty much trashed 11), it always shows me as someone else. I receive messages/itineraries from people that I have no clue who they are. What's funny is when someone sends me a message with something like "You're supposed to be in Dallas, TX. Why are you in New Hampshire?"

Actually, I think it's more along the lines of what data is sent from the user to the server. Apparently they don't "match". Personally, I think they track with the user's ip address instead of their username. Depending on where you are in the country, you could have any number of ip addresses assigned as you switch connections.

Right now, I've got it running on my desktop with the satellite connection, watching the web site on the same computer......??? I figger it should work, but ???

I got it working. Seems you have to also change the port from 80 to 9880 in the msg.cfg file. (Not mentioned in the FAQs.) Now it works........
