Re: ALK Technologies Launches CoPilot Truck 11
Truckstoplus software is mentioned in some of the earlier blogs. Your search engine will find it easily. It cost thirty some odd $ The streets and maps software is also thirty some odd $
Any one know if I can run two GPS programs at the same time by using two antenna's in two usb ports.

Re: ALK Technologies Launches CoPilot Truck 11
You can run 2 USB GPS receivers at the same time each feeding a different navigation program. Or you can use GPS Gate to share a single GPS among 2 or more navigation programs.

Off topic, but I will mention it here anyway. Occasionally a member registers here at the forum, and mistakenly they enter their e-mail address as their user name. If this is the case, wbchinook@.....com, or anyone else, or if anyone wishes to change their user name for any reason at all, please do not hesitate to send me a quick note via the Contact Us link on the very bottom of every page.

Re: ALK Technologies Launches CoPilot Truck 11
Another option for sharing the GPS signal between programs is XPort. It does basically the same thing as GPSGate, but is free.
Here's the link: http://curioustech.home.insightbb.com/xport.html
I bought GPSGate before I knew about XPort. I've tried it though and it works just fine. I've had as many as 5 differnt applications that use GPS data at one time (off of one receiver).

Re: ALK Technologies Launches CoPilot Truck 11
They only update with new versions. When a new version comes out, existing custoners can buy it direct through ALK for $99.00 instead of the $239.00 original cost.

Re: ALK Technologies Launches CoPilot Truck 11
Just a quick update on the next release of ALK's CoPilot. As anyone who's used older versions of CoPilot, you know that version 11 was a HUGE step backwards. It's littered with problems that they've known about since day one. The program was released for sale in February, 2008. They first said a patch would be released VERY soon (their words). In May of 2008, they said that they were no longer working on a patch and was focusing on the next release.
So, with a year after the disasterous release, I called them today to get an ETA on the next release - it's due out in NOVEMBER, 2009!!! Does ALK only have one programmer working for them part time?

Re: ALK Technologies Launches CoPilot Truck 11
Did they elaborate on why November? That's like skipping one version.

Re: ALK Technologies Launches CoPilot Truck 11
They didn't give a reason. However, if you can remember, they skipped version 10 completely. The reason for that was Vista, however. Maybe the reason for the delay this time is Windows 7. You'd think in the extra time they had with version 11, it would've at least been able to run on a computer that was widescreen or with a 64-bit operating system.

Re: ALK Technologies Launches CoPilot Truck 11
Yeah, they skipped the version 10 of the "Truck" product, but the "Laptop" was released. The November target ETA was for the ALK CoPilot 11 Truck, or also for ALK CoPilot 11 Laptop?

Not sure if the eta was for both standard and truck.

Let's then hope it was ETA just for the Truck version, and let's hope we will soon see a new standard version of ALK CoPilot 12.

Re: ALK Technologies Launches CoPilot Truck 11
But almost 2 years for a release? Especially one that's going to be nothing more than patches to their already horrible Version 11.

Re: ALK Technologies Launches CoPilot Truck 11
I've been e-mailing Alk support back & forth for about a week now. And like it was stated earlier, a new version of CoPilot Truck version 12 will be out this fall. And an update this summer to their hand held gps - PC Miler Navigator 430 (powered by CoPilot).
