Read it right away using link Marvin provided. Got a couple of good ideas from it, but not much. IQue and similar products too small a screen (especially for price my son wanted to spend). I will stick to PC with its big wide screen. Browsed MG Canada on Garmin web site but not impressed.

Most of my searches are in southern Ontario, although some kin are in Collins Cove, Newfoundland and around Burin - where I will never travel but would like to associate kin to places on the map there.

In your case, where you have both SA and S&T, any time you care about geographic features you will need to look at SA. S&T will consistently disappoint in this regard.

As I've mentioned earlier, so far I haven't seen any reason for you to get more than your SA and S&T, and possibly Google Earth Plus if you discover anything useful when you explore the free version of Google Earth at some time in the future.
Ken, thanks once more for lots of valuable info. I agree with your recommendation, and appreciate the detailed analysis. Navigation is less important to me currently than the planning stuff. If that changes later, I will have my printed copy of these forum conversations to review for reconsideration.

I've written a few RFIs, RFPs and tenders in my time and evaluated lots of responses, too, so I have an idea of the sorts of things you might be looking for. And how to write them up.
