nRoute and Topo Canada v4

Hi All
I run a small tablet computer with Garmin nRoute installed with MapSource for navigation. Works great with Topo Canada v2 and Topo USA 2008. Purchased Topo Canada v4, love the maps, but I cannot get it to work with nRoute.

Anyone know how to get it to work with nRoute for navigation or am I only going to get to look at the maps in MapSource, and not get to use it for navigation.

Topo Canada v4 is in the new Garmin map format and only works with newer versions of MapSource. You will have to download MapReverseConverter and convert the existing gmap folder to the old format. It is a very straight forward procedure and the resulting maps will work with all versions of MapSource and nRoute.

I tried the map conversion program but can't seem to find the garmin maps on my computer to put them into the coverter anyone know where windows may hide them. I looked in all the garmin folders and can find the programs like Nroute and Base Camp but no folder with any topo maps, If i put the garmin folder into the converter it just comes up with a box saying no maps avaliable to be converted.Anyone got any ideas.

Assuming the program was loaded from a DVD, the folder has a gmap extension. For XP it is in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GARMIN\Maps. The corresponding location for Vista (and Win 7) is C:\Program Data\GARMIN\Maps.

If you searched for the gmap folder and couldn't find it, perhaps you haven't changed the options for showing all folders.

Glad you got it going ok, Mark. Now, to save space, you can delete the original gmap folder as it is no longer required.
