In the old thread if the subject is very relevant. If it's not really close, start a new thread.

For the best response it's always best to use a thread with a subject that is very close or identical to what you want to know. Continue an existing one or start a new one. That way, people with knowledge can spot it easily and jump in to help. In a thread like this one, it will be buried and lost in no time, especially with the contest going on.

Re: Review: Garmin Mobile PC

There is no software program, including Centrafuse, that can enable touch screen capabilities on a laptop that doesn't already have such a feature. Centrafuse is just an overlay to make it easy to see and select programs the laptop is running. One of these may be GPS navigation software. It is often used with small screen touch screen displays to make selecting programs with a finger easier than using the basic Windows layout. No magic at all and little advantage on a larger screen.

Re: Review: Garmin Mobile PC

Hi guys....I've been a long time (year and a half) user of mobile pc on netbook platform...and there have been several discussions during that period on an update to current version of mobile pc including one that suggested the availability of an update prior to year end....anybody have any substantive information on a new release??

Feel free to pm me any questions about Centrafuse. I've been using it for a year or so now. Also, check their website: Centrafuse | A Whole New Way

If you go to the forums, you can see all the plugins available for it.

Have been following this thread since inception and have wanted to try GMPC, but being on a fixed income haven't had the chance.

Re: Review: Garmin Mobile PC

If I get a copy of GMPC I'll give it a shot with CF 3.0. I'm running 2.1 in the car now. With 3.0 all GPS programs would function as plug-ins so you basically run whatever you like. Destinator is the one they support out of the box, but most people don't like destinator any more.

Re: Review: Garmin Mobile PC

There aren't any plugins for CF3 for GMPC as of yet. There are at least 2 people working on them, though.

Destinator is absolute garbage.

Re: Review: Garmin Mobile PC

I am currently using MS S&T 2010 on a laptop for planning and navigation in my RV. Would Garmin Mobile PC be a better program for the navigation? I would love to win a copy to give it a try and see how good it is for travelling purposes.

You could probably run it with the apploader by 007. It will be nice to have a dedicated one though, because the current one for 2.1 mutes and everything.
