Transferring Detail Maps from Mapsource to Mobile PC

Yes you can. I don't know which map file names the Nuvi will use but you can use GMAPSUPP.IMG for sure.

If you are using locked maps on Mobile PC that are unlocked to a 10x or 20x receiver for Mobile PC they won't work on the Nuvi.

Long repeated question !!! How many maps can I instal on my MPC.
I have read the whole thread and found that you can combine multiple "other" maps into a single GMAPSUPP and that you can rename your main supplementary maps as gmapsup2. Then you can transfer other mapset directly from MapSource without worrying about it overwriting your existing supplementary maps.
Is it possible for you to recapitulate the best way to add more maps without overwriting existing maps? Is it renaiming the file like - 2 3 4 ?

I have currently three maps installed on my MobilePC:
Autoroute DEM Basemap NR- came with x20 bundle CD
City Navigator Europe NT 2009 - came with x20 bundle CD
Garmin Africa series 2008- installed by me
All three maps are visible and can be ticked under mapsource icon on my MPC. I need to ad T4Africa which is a map compatible with Gramin maps but when I download it it overwrites my Garmin Africa series 2008.

Basemap will be saved as gmapbmap.img. CNE NT 2009 will be gmapprom.img. Rename the Africa series you installed from gmapsupp.img to gmapsup2.img and then convert you T4Africa. It will be gmapsupp.img.

Those are the only 4 names allowed. If you need more, you will have to combine them using MapSource before converting them for Mobile PC. Mobile PC will allow you to select parts of maps you have combined though.
