John, this confused me at first, too, but:

* Garmin Mobile PC (software-only version) comes with Activation Code (because the code is needed for the program to work with a GPS receiver other than Garmin GPS 20x).

* Garmin Mobile PC package which includes the Garmin GPS 20x USB receiver does not come with Activation Code (because the code is not required for the software to work with the included hardware).

I think you will enjoy it, John. By the way, there is no product key for the GPS-20X version. You only need a product key for the Software-only version. That's because with the Software-only version there is no hardware device serial number to key the unlock code to.
