European Version of Garmin Mobile PC available

I've just noticed Garmin seems to be selling a European version of Mobile PC now. From Garmin's site:

That has been there for a few weeks, always with no price listed. Someone should email them and ask if it's actually available yet. Clearly they intend to do one sometime or they wouldn't assign it a SKU.

Seems I left for Europe too early! The European maps I ordered intending to use with Nroute didnt arrive before I left so I found, and bought, maps of Croatia from a Croation vendor and used these - seems tho my $300 outlay should have been $69 complete with "free: Mobile PC and GPS - ah well am happy with Nroute by the way - trip planning is good and software is reliable. Still away for 6 more weeks but if anyone wants more feedback on my use of Nroute let me know

It appears that Garmin Mobile PC Europe is starting to show up in stores. I still don't see it advertised by big retailers the likes of Amazon UK, but I stumbled upon a discussion about it at a GPS forum in Slovak Republic: www.gpsforum.sk -- members there confirmed that the product is indeed available from their local Garmin store: http://www.garmin.sk/default.asp?cls=stoitem&stiid=254

People at the forum have been discussing an issue with strange green/blue colors of the map of their country. Hopefully Garmin will fix it for them soon.

The current Garmin Mobile PC Europe contains 33 countries. The price at Garmin.sk is 69.46 EUR + tax w/out USB GPS receiver, and 125.24 EUR + tax for the package that includes Garmin USB GPS20x receiver.

Anybody can tell me where I can purchase Garmin Mobile PC Europe in the United States? I see a UK company sells software only, not Europe map ( I notice that when I try to place an order). Thanks.

Mobile PC includes the maps. You cannot buy maps seperately for Mobile PC. When the next release of the maps comes out you must buy a new version of Mobile PC to upgrade the maps.

Mobile PC Europe is called by that name because it includes the City Navigator Europe NT2009 maps.

Mobile PC North America is called by that name because it includes the City Navigator North America NT2009 maps.

The maps are the only difference between the two products.

To say it another way, you cannot buy Mobile PC without the maps.

But if you're going to buy it over the internet, what difference does it make where you order it from?

I tried to order it from Garmin's messed up site.If you put your location as from Europe it lets you pick from the drop down list.If your location is Canada or North America it is not in the drop down, only North American Version.It is in the version tab with the SKU bu wont let you procede to checkout.
Actually called them and the guy was rude and said it would be available soon but it wont be newt week and hung up.
All I want to do is buy it somewhere, as we are travelling to Ireland at end of June.
Cant find it on ebay either.

I've had good luck asking GPS Central to order items they don't normally stock from Garmin. Something I ordered that way arrived today in fact. Perhaps you should give them a call or send an email?

They have it at the GPS Warehouse. You can get all three versions, Software-only, Mobile 20 bundle and Mobile 10X bundle (look on the second page of the list). All with the Europe maps. It's in the UK, but in the age of the internet it shouldn't be an issue where you purchase it from. I'm sure UPS will be happy to transport it and your credit card company will cheerfully do the currency conversion.

For that price you should be able to buy the NA bundle and European maps!

I didn't even look at the prices. I was just looking for availability. That was just one of many places I found when I did a quicky Google search. The original poster seems to be hung up on buying it in Canada or North America.

Your idea to ask GPS Central is a good one and would be my first choice. It's a free phone call.

Yes, I too thought Atlantic Ken had a good idea. If kelmes is really in Canada, he couldn't order from Garmin anyway as they don't ship to here.

Thanks to all the Kens on this site.I took Ken in Cape Breton's advice and emailed GPS central to make a special request for that SKU
I could buy it from anywhere I suppose, but dont want huge shipping costs that I have incurred on other internet purchases.
I talked to one GPS online store here in Ontario and he is trying to get it for me.He ballparked around $80, which sound about right with exchange.
