If you are referring to Garmin XT for Pocket PCs, it is possible to plan a trip on it. However, as it will talk to MapSource on a computer, that is a better resource to actually lay out the waypoints and routes.

If you have City Select, you probably have MapSource already. nRoute is the navigation part and MapSource is the planning part of a very competent routing package. Some others on this board prefer nRoute to Mobile PC. More discussion is here:

Hi Terry,

I do not have any of them, i am planning to buy something...

Like Streets and Trips 2009 or Garmin GPS10 deluxe edition...

The real question is what to buy? S&T 2009 or the GPS 10.

Which product is the best thing to plan a trip?

Thank You

The Garmin program you are looking at is actually a competent Bluetooth GPS receiver, however Garmin has updated it with the GPS 10x. This is a much better, less expensive unit but does not have a magnetic mount. Each comes with the latest Garmin map and nRoute software.

For the price, S&T 2009 with GPS or Garmin Mobile PC with GPS 20x are a better buy and each is more suitable for laptop use. The 10 series is aimed more at the PDA market. Also your laptop would have to be equipped with Bluetooth.
