Hi all
I finally got a chance to try out mobile pc with i.Trek M7. I turn on the gps reciever. Set it to bluetooth mode. I fired up my laptop and then mobile pc. It found the m7 withen a second locked on to gps signal. I was ready to go . I plot a route and let it do it's thing. Things were looking good. So I decided to browse the program and then it locked up...Then the screen went blue. Dam I was not impressed. So I let it reboot. After rebooting I tried mobile pc again. Seems okay got gps signal fast again. This time I turned off all the programs running in the back ground. This time I just zoomed in and out on the map........again it locked up. Same thing blue again. I rebooted one more time. This time l let the program run. I did not touch anything......a few minutes later it locks up again. Blue again. So I let it reboot again and this time i took it out of 3D view thinking this would be easier on the computer. This no more crashes. I got to my distination and back no problems. It does not look as pretty but at least it works. Hopefully this will be fixed with the next version of mobile pc.If your wondering what kind of laptop I have HP Paviilion Core 2 duo 1.83 3 gigs of ram Vista home premium |

Never had any problems with blue screens or lockups even on my UMPC and its a lowly Celeron 900. It works great with the Itrek. I would suggest you do a little more research as to where the problem is originating. Could it be a problem with your Bluetooth?

Right now I am running the latest version of mobile pc. As for the bluetooth. If it connects there would be no problem. As of right now it connects right away. Unless there are different drivers to be had. Any idea where to get them?

Sorry, my mistake
. You should really not need to install anything for BT (just for USB).

Rather than hunt around in the dark, you should debug the bluescreen. Did you write down what the bluescreen said? It'll say which module crashed, and this would give you some idea of where the problem is.

hey guys
Do you think a power invert not putting enough power out to support the laptop would cause the lock up. 75 watt inverter puts out 60 watts continously. Where as the laptop needs 90 watts |

From the fact the fan runs on my tabletoccasionally when it is working with GMPC, I would assume it is more than idling. I've tried it with Task Manager running but cpu usage is up and down.
However, that is so easy to check, either by stressing your laptop with some other program and seeing if it blue screens, plugging it into real power, or getting a slightly better inverter. Terry |

I will give it a try tomorrow. I picked up a 300 watt inverter. It puts out a steady flow of 240. I will turn on the 3D graphics on again. I am in BC right now. I am heading to Whistler tomorrow so I'll test my theory.

My guess would be that a weaker power inverter should not cause your BSOD. The inverter could be too hot, or the inverter could stop working, but it should likely not cause other issues, But a 300W unit will be better suited. I'm using 400W inverter.

Hello guys,
I just got back from my trip to Whistler. Before I left I had recharged my laptop. I ran mobile pc with the 3D turned back on. I ran on battery till there was only 30 percent left. I had no problems so far. So now for the test I plugged in the 300 watt inverter and plugged in my laptop. I could see the battery chargeing. I continued with my trip no problems. As I finished my trip there was no problem . I can only conclude at this point that the 75 watt inverter was the problem. If it happens again I will let you know.
