In 2006 Global Surveyors was formed. The idea came about with the need of networking surveyors worldwide with news, advertising and promotion. At the time there was no such website around and so we are pleased to be the first site dedicated to achieving this.

Any one have any comments on the Best GPS system for Land Surveys?

I'm looking at getting a system and can't decide.

I think the vast majority -- so far -- of the members on here are using consumer-grade devices. Perhaps, with the presence of a couple of professional survey outfits here, that might change.

On the other hand, here in Canada the federal government has a site that allows readings taken by even consumer-grade devices to be corrected in batches through their online service. So you don't necessarily need a survey-grade device. But I took a look at the site and you still have to be a professional surveyor to understand the data you need to submit in order to do the corrections. I don't.
