Tires can sit on store shelves for years before they are sold, but there's no expiration date. Yet research and tests show that as tires get older, even if they've never been driven a mile, they begin to dry out, and after six years of age they become dangerous.

Similarly, how old is that "new" vehicle you just bought? (complete with its "new" tires), how long did it take to get from "wherever it was made?", Quite often sitting in a ship's hold or on a train, standing in shipping & freight yards, then on the the dealers' forecourts.
