Default iGuidance 4.0 on PPC and Connecting to Bluetooth GPS

I just got a copy of iGuidance 4.0 for my iPaq hx2490. Installation was simple and it comes up and runs just fine. I get the maps and I even copied the favorites from my old iPaq navigation system and they come up perfectly in iGuidance. My problem is that I can not get it to connect to my bluetooth GPS. I am trying to use the HP one that I got with the navigation.

Here is what I do. First, I turn on the GPS. Second I run iGuidance. Agree to the little message block. Click tools -> GPS Options -> Auto Detect. GPS Detector comes up with the GPS Port/Baud Checker, I click OK. Bluetooth browser comes up and i see my BT-GPS-003B10. Little spinny thing keeps going, so I give it a few seconds. I then tap my gps and the spinny thing goes again. Then iGuidance says no GPS found. ok or rescan. Rescan sends me through the same loop. OK goes back to the map. Any ideas?

jdh201, welcome to the forum. If the question ware related to the laptop version, then I suspect you could find more help here, as this forum is all about GPS solutions for laptops, TabletPCs, Ultra-Mobile PCs, etc, etc. I suspect most of us around here don't have much experience with PPCs. My first thought would be to check if the other GPS software you have still works with the GPS receiver. I would then make sure the second software was closed (not minimized) to allow iGuidance access to the GPS. I'd recommend to soft reset your iPaq, too, but I suspect you might have tried it already.

Yeah, tried soft reset and I actually have the old software removed from the handheld.
