Hi p0lar,
Welcome to Laptop GPS Word forums! In the PPC version of your iGuidance 4 you could go to Tools => Hotkey Options, and set your desired hardware button to toggle full-screen mode. After you start iGuidance, just press the button and you are set. iGuidance will not switch back from full-screen mode after you stop, or slow down.

Dave, I'm afraid I cannot think of a way to start the PPC version of iGuidance 4 in full-screen mode. There may be some work-around to achieve it, but I just don't know.
The laptop version of iGuidance remembers the mode it is in when it exits. If the laptop version is closed while in full-screen mode, the next session will start in full-screen mode, too. But this is not how the PPC version behaves.
