A friend of mine recently updated his Garmin unit and FINALLY the roads here in the Austin area of Texas are for the most part showing up (both use NAVTEQ). I need to know if anyone has any "scoop" on iNav releasing a map update (I thought they usually were out at this time of year!), or is it simply time for me to jump ship to Garmin, as these little buggers have finally fallen into the almost-cheap-enough-for-everyone category! Yes, I know, patience is a virtue, but where in Michigan I could depend on iNav almost totally blind, here in Cedar Park iNav will run you into a cement wall three times a mile, and constantly goes back and forth from "Off Route" to normal. It has become so frustrating that I almost hate referring to the thing and I recall how thrilled I once was with it - kind of like some former girlfriends (I am married now so I will not further comment).

Hi brucemc777,
Welcome to Laptop GPS World. It's good to hear Navteq improved coverage of your area. When the next version of iGuidance w/new map data is released, it will for sure have the same or newer version of Navteq maps. I don't know when, but most likely iNav will make its own announcement right here in this forum section. But if I recall correctly iNav indicated they may still release an update to version 4 (prior to an update with new map data, which would likely be called version iGuidance 5).
