Trying to connect my Bluetooth receiver to iGuidance

Just bought the iGuidance Bluetooth package, containing the GlobalSat BT359 Ver 2.0.

I got my Com port detected ok, but when my laptop, running Windows Vista 64 bit, was connecting, the connection was asking for a passkey. Well there was no passkey when installing the BT device, so I did not enter a passkey, and the connection got refused.

What's the magic decoder ring, secret handshake that I am missing?

Re: Trying to connect my Bluetooth receiver to iGuidance

Passkey for most Bluetooth GPS receivers nowadays is: 0000 (four zeros). Give it a try, let us know if it works/doesn't work.

Thanks! That was it!

I have been out and about with iGuadance for the first time.

I thought I could enter a bunch of of itinary points and have the software put them in order by shortest time or shortest distance. I can't seem to find that feature. Am I wrong?

Re: Trying to connect my Bluetooth receiver to iGuidance

iGuidance 4 doesn't have a feature that would sort stops in your itinerary to make the trip fastest or shortest. But I think such functionality is likely on several people's wish list.

Some iGuidance users use the inexpensive Microsoft Streets and Trips for trip planning, and then they enter their way-points into iGuidance. It's not the best solution, but it works.

Does the latest DeLorme SA have this feature? I may be confusing what I thought was a DeLorme SA feature, with one of the on-line map sites.

Not sure about DeLorme Street Atlas (I looked, I didn't find it there, but users more familiar with SA may tell you otherwise). Streets and Trips can do it, ALK CoPilot Laptop can do it, Garmin Mobile PC can do it, and I'm not sure about online maps.
