iGuidance 4 and Treo 750 questions

Hello,

I just purchased from eBay a Treo 750 with an iGuidance 4 software (no CD). I have a couple of questions:

1. Will iNav support me on the software?
2. As any other licensed software, I am assuming this iGuidance is locked to the device hotsync name and possibly the device serial number. So if I change the sync name, I lose functionality of the software? Is that what would happen?
3. Assuming I kept this sync name as is, if my device gets damaged and I replaced it, I would lose the whole software functionality?
4. Can I use the Freedom Keychain Bluetooth GPS 2000 for this software?

Welcome to Laptop GPS World.

1. Unlikely. If iGuidance was installed on the device by the manufacturer of the device, then normally the OEM would be responsible for support.

2. I suspect iGuidance 4 will keep on working just fine.

3. If your device gets damaged, you may no longer be able to install iGuidance 4 on a new device, since you don't have the original installation DVD.

4. Yes (any NMEA standard GPS receiver should work just fine).

Would it be better to buy the software then?

There is no need to spend more money. I'm assuming you've bought your Treo 750 with iGuidance 4 installed, and everything is working fine at this point. Enjoy.
