Default No full screen button on the Laptop version of iGuidance 4

Hello all,

When I bought 4.0 I immediately installed it on my PC at the house so I could use the PC to familiarize myself with the program. I also have it installed on my laptop (of course).

On the PC screen there are three orange squares; (a plus (+) and a minus (-) and a third square in the lower right-hand corner to the left of the volume on an/off button with a large and a small square inside the big square to go to "full screen" and back. The same thing that the F key does.

Now, the question, why is it that I do not have the "full screen" button on my laptop but I do have the (+) and (-) one it??

Albert

Albert, I recently uninstalled iGuidance 4 to replace it with iGuidance 2009. I just looked at both, the Laptop version of iGuidance 2009, and the UMPC/CarPC version of iGuidance 2009. They both have the full-screen button. Perhaps someone who has iGuidance 4 can look and tell us if the button is present in the Laptop version.

Marvin, thank you for your quick reply. It's no big deal, it's just that every time I use the program something new shows up and I always have the F. Key. I usually don't use the program going from city to city but one I get into a large city that I'm unfamiliar with it does come in handy.

For v4, the fullscreen button is only added for UMPC/car pc version since many car pc users do not have access to a keypad. Laptop users may use the "F" key to toggle fullscreen on/off.

For iGuidance 2009 version, we added this fullscreen button to laptop version as well since more pc manufacturers are including touchscreen with their regular laptops.

You will probably need to reinstall the program. I have it on my laptop and it is full screen all the time. My poroblem is the GPS setup button has disappeared. As I am going to move the license anyway, I haven't bothered with a reinstall recently.

Terry, there is no need to reinstall iGuidance 4 just to get out of the full-screen mode. As inav says, just press the F-key on your keyboard to get back to windowed-mode. F-key is the hotkey that toggles full-screen mode. The new iGuidance 2009 will be more intuitive, as you will see the 'Full-Screen" button right on the screen (even in the PC version, not just in the UMPC version).

You will be able to access GPS setup options via menu toolbar, after you exit full-screen mode.

Thank you Marvin.
That worked fine. Of course I had forgotten how to change out of full screen mode as it is not the same as the UMPC. And F key made me think of the function keys.
All OK now.

Thanks everyone,

Just got back from a five-day trip so I haven't had a chance to get back on. I'm going to have to ponder getting the new version. I have another question but I'll have to go to a different part of the form for it because it doesn't particularly apply to this program.

Again thank you.
