iGuidance 2009 is now shipping!

My iGuidance 2009 was shipped out yesterday. Hopefully I will get it this upcoming week.

Nice! You ordered directly from inavcorp.com, didn't you? Yesterday I checked some of iGuidance distributors, semsons.com, buygpsnow.com, but they still advertise iGuidance 4. Likely they're still trying to get rid of the old stock before they start selling the new version.

I received my iGuidance 2009 today. I followed all the instructions for installing on a laptop, including the uninstall directions for the previous version, and the software and map loader instructions as well as the iGuidance Activation Guide. I had no problems getting this to work. Next I went to Tools and GPS options on the iGuidance 2009 and only had the Auto Detect option available. That seemed strange, but it did work as I was able to run iGuidance 2009. Then I opened my Streets & Trips 2008 and was successful in also having that run thanks to my Franson GPSgate software. Next I went to the iNav site to register the iGuidance 2009 software. You will need to enter the SN as well as the LN number to register iGuidance 2009.

I'll try a test drive this evening with both iGuidance 2009 and Streets and Trips 2008 running at the same time and will report back the results tonight.

Yes, on the file menu you will only see the "automatic" GPS detection, but you can still access the "manual" com port and baud rate settings via the main menu button. The limitation of the previous iGuidance versions was the inability of users to use com ports above 16 (if I recall correctly). I just successfully tested iGuidance 2009 with a USB GPS receiver working on virtual com port 99.

I just did some driving with both iGuidance 2009 and Streets and Trips 2008 running at the same time with the voice directions working great using both products at the same time thanks to Franson GPSgate software.

There is not much overlapping voice direction conflicts. iGuidance 2009 with the new maps plus Streets and Trips 2008 working together is a killer GPS navigation driving solution on a laptop!!

Does anyone know if if i Guidance has maps for Australia?

The current version of iGuidance 2009 covers USA and Canada only. For Australia, check Garmin forum for more info on Garmin nRoute and Garmin Mobile PC.
