iGuidance 4.0 and Samsung SCH-i760
Hello,
I've loaded IG 4 on my Samsung SCH-i760. I have configured my Earthmate Blue Logger bluetooth GPS on the 760. I know that the 760 sees it because when I configure it the 760 tells me that the GPS wants to connect and is it ok to allow it. I used the default Earthmate password of 0000.
However, when I start IG on the 760 it does not see the GPS. I click "Tools" and "GPS" and tell it to autodetect, but it never finds it. Probably something simple, but I can't figure out what it is. I've searched this forum but it seems that most of the time is that people haven't entered the 0000 password. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: iGuidance 4.0 and Samsung SCH-i760
You have to setup a com port in the phone's bluetooth settings specifically for the GPS to use. Then pick that port within iGuidance. I had the same problem. Coincidentally, I have the same phone. My 760 is running WM 6.1.

Re: iGuidance 4.0 and Samsung SCH-i760
I have a Samsung i760 with WM6.0 and iG 3.0 that I have been running satisfactorily for a year. I recently did a successful upgrade to WM6.1 and after loading back my iG 3.0, everything worked fine except the speech was very slow with 1-2 second pauses between words. I was thinking of getting the most recent version of iG but needed to know if the slow speech problem was there with Samsung i760 with WM6.1 and current iG version. Thanks for any advice on this before I spend the money.

Re: iGuidance 4.0 and Samsung SCH-i760
I believe I sometimes get a little pause between the 1st and 2nd words, but other than that I don't have any problems. Def'ly nothing that keeps me from using it normally. Note that I have 4.0, which is no longer the newest version.

Re: iGuidance 4.0 and Samsung SCH-i760
Gunner,
Thanks for the quick reply! I noticed that IG2009 includes a separate microSD that is supplied and must be used to run the program - since I use a 2 gig card in the i760 now for business files, I'm not keen on the idea of switching out cards when I want to use IG. Does IG4.0 allow you to install maps on any 2 gig Micro SD card with some room left over for other files? I think solmeone mentioned that some stores are still selling 4.0.

Yes 4.0 allows you to use your own card of any size. I'm also not interested in iG2009 because of the locked SD card issue.

Re: iGuidance 4.0 and Samsung SCH-i760
Thanks again for the quick reply - I'll try to get a 4.0 copy from one of the internet retailers. By the way - I just reinstalled 3.0 entirely on the micro sD card (both program and maps) and the speech runs faster than having the program in main memory and the maps on the card. Guess the difference of 30meg free versus 25meg in main memory makes quite a difference. Speech still not as fast as with the orginal WM6.0.

Re: iGuidance 4.0 and Samsung SCH-i760
I always install everything to the card. The TTS has always been slower with 4.0 than previous versions, but it's still been usable for me. If you get 4.0, be sure to download the update from iNav for that version.
