Default GPS/USB/BT and Firewall

As you may have noted elsewhere in this area, I am running the alphabet above. However, I must disable my firewall whilst I am out and about navigating. This is not a big deal (I am less vunerable to intrusion if off-network) so long as I remember to do so but my question is: Is there a simple semi-permanent firewall setting that my 'puter can remember in lieu of my remembering?

I'm not too familiar with this area, so forgive my question, but isn't there a way to set an exception in your firewall for the connection you require?
