Hi mccd7618,
Welcome to Laptop GPS World.
Are you asking only about the GPS receivers included in the above mentioned bundles, or are you are asking also about the included software?
Garmin Mobile PC includes USB GPS Receiver: Garmin GPS20x
Garmin Mobile 10 includes Bluetooth GPS Receiver: Garmin GPS10x
If you are asking purely about the included GPS units, then the decision will be based on if you wish to use USB or Bluetooth connection. Do you know if your laptop has Bluetooth? Some don't. Perhaps all laptops have USB, though.

I don't see a product called Mobile 10 for laptops. You may mean Mobile XT which, as Marvin says, includes the GPS 10x Bluetooth receiver. It is specifically for PDAs but includes nRoute which can be used with a laptop. While an excellent mapping product, I would recommend Mobile PC.
Mobile PC has a more user friendly interface with the controls you need on the screen as large buttons. Very similar to Garmin's Nuvi products only with a full size screen.
Also, Mobile PC comes with a more modern map (CNNA NT 2009). Mobile XT is still at CNNA NT 2008 and an update may not be available before August.
I love my GPS 10x but you would need Bluetooth on your laptop. Mobile PC can be purchased with the GPS 20x, a good USB receiver. Or you can use it with your existing GPS receiver USB, serial, or Bluetooth.

If it is Windows XP, I don't think it would have a problem with Microsoft S&T 2009. You can download a free trial copy to see. Of course, you would need a GPS receiver as well to try it out fully.
