Re: Globalsat BU-353 vs Holux GR-213U

I have a BU-353 and it has worked well for me. It seems like it takes a long time to get a lock from a cold start, but I don't have anything to compare it with except my Magellan handheld.

My personal feeling is that any mainstream GPS receiver out there will get the job done. You could spend some time comparing specs, but I doubt that any differences in specs would be noticable while you're motoring down the road.

Re: Globalsat BU-353 vs Holux GR-213U

Both, BU-353 by GlobalSat and GR-213 by Holux, are based on the same chip, SiRFstarIII. I wouldn't expect to see much, if any, difference in performance. I haven't personally tested GR-213, but I'm pretty sure it is as great as BU-353. And I tend to lean towards what kcflyer just said: "any mainstream GPS receiver out there will get the job done".
