How do I make my own routes and upload them to a laptop PC?

So what is the difference between the download and the DVD version of City navigator.

The DVD may come with MapSource if you don't already have it (then again, it might not). Otherwise, a piece of plastic you can store away (don't forget shipping charges).

Check your MyGarmin account to see if a new map is available for your Colorado. You did register it, right? Downloads take 2 to 4 hours by high speed internet and need about 6 Gigs space to save and massage the data (~2G download, 2 G to expand and 2G for the finished gmap and Colorado files).

Yeah, the DVD maps always include Mapsource. That's why they are called Mapsource City Navigator. It won't be the latest version of Mapsource, but that's no big deal because it's only dot releases since the DVDs were burned and they are just minor bug fixes .. no new features and no really major fixes.

So can you make a route in map quest and send it to mobilepc? I know you are supposed to be able to send it to a "device" but I haven't been able to get it to my Colorado successfully (assuming because I don't have any route able maps on the Colorado).

It won't do you much good if you do not have routable road maps on your CO.
