Importing Map Data

I'm looking for a low-end laptop GPS system that will allow the import of ESRI shapefiles.

DeLorme's XMap 5.2 will do what I need, but it is too expensive to buy for just the import capability. Once I get my map data in, the only functionality I will require is the basics, like the lower end programs use.

Thanks for any information you might have on this subject.

Re: Importing Map Data

Sam, I think you could do it with Microsoft MapPoint (and still save a few dollars).
