DeLorme Topo, GPS PN-20 bundle

I would appreciate any information on the "value" of the Deluxe bundle of the Topo & GPS PN-20. I want to give it to our son who I consider to be a "Maps Geek". He particularly uses Topo maps as opposed to something like Street Atlas. I have also shopped the Garmin Topo ???
