Keeping pushpins on Streets & Trips map?

This is a poor title but it reflects what I want to do and can't find in a search.

We're on a RV trip in Mexico (and BTW, S&T has excellent coverage right down to small streets in small towns). I would like to create push pins for things and have them appear on the map when I start a new file/route. In other words...I create a pin for "X" on a file/route. I finish that trip and start a new one. I'd like for "X" to already be on the map. Can this be done?

Thanks! Steve

Belgique, it is great to hear such an excellent feedback on the Mexico map coverage in the new Streets and Trips 2009!

The following may help with the pushpins: How to Customize the Default Map Template

The link can also be found in the Tips & Tricks area, which is always pinned to the top of this forum's index page.

What you need to do is save the map as a new map template or you could just create a file labeled vacation trips and save it. When you start or plan your next vacation just open up the "vacation trips" file and plan your new trip on it. The old trips will be there too. Just to remember to keep saving it as a the same name and it will over write the old file with the new one containing all the new and old information.

Re: Keeping pushpins on Streets & Trips map?

Thanks guys! I'm now embarrassed since going through your stuff I see that it has been addressed quite a bit...didn't know what to search for.

The Mexico coverage is quite good. We were in a very small town (35" motorhome towing a Jeep) and missed the sign if there was one. S&T was our only hope and it came through fine. Esp helpful that it shows 1 way streets and the direction. About the only thing it won't do is search for an address etc. There are no POI's. On some roads, the RV is shown as being about 50 yards to the right or left and it goes nuts on recalculating. It also crashes a lot...what I don't know is how it knows to crash just when I need it the most! All in all, for less than $50 you can't complain. Garmin nor the others come close to coverage here. A Mexican company is getting ready to release one based on Map Source that shows great promise.

Again, thanks! Steve
