Make pushpins invisible in Microsoft Streets and Trips

Once I've defined a route in Streets & Trips, I want to fine-tune it to "go one more block north, then turn left" type of adjustments. When I grab the route and move it, I get another stop at that new location. I don't want a new stop indicated, I just want the route to use the particulars that I indicate. How can I do this?

It would be nice if Streets & Trips allowed users to set pushpins invisible. I've heard other users asking for such functionality, too. I prefer drawing avoid area rectangles to modify my route. That way you don't see the unnecessary pushpins on your map.
