Looking to buy S&T 2010?
Canadians : Try looking at Staples, London Drugs and Best Buy. They should carry it both online and in their stores.
US : If you are having problems finding 2010 in a physical store order from Amazon.com [Standard version or GPS version].
The Microsoft Store should show 2010 soon but I don't have an ETA.

Re: Review: Microsoft Streets and Trips
Amazon.com will not ship some products outside the USA, but you can certainly order it via their Canadian branch when the product becomes available. Here's a S&T2010 product search result @ amazon.ca. At this moment it indicates that the product is unavailable, but further down the page it also reads "Release Date: Oct 12 2009". When I first read it a few weeks ago, I took it as meaning Microsoft Canada was indeed going to release it on that day. But perhaps Microsoft Canada hasn't yet released it. I asked someone at MSFT Canada to find out for me. He said he would, but I haven't heard from him in a couple of days.
From previous years I remember that Microsoft Canada always issued a press release when the product was launched, but I haven't yet seen a press release this year. We may need to wait a bit longer.

S&T 2010 is now available from Microsoft Store.
The advantages of purchasing S&T from the MS Store are: - can choose the download option and save on shipping charges.
- If you already have the 2010 trial downloaded then you don't need to download it again - just use the trial.
- No waiting - just type in the product key and you're done. The product key will also be emailed to you for reference.

Re: Review: Microsoft Streets and Trips
All (or most) software companies sell their own software themselves in addition to selling it via their distributors. Look at the most discussed software titles here at Laptop GPS World. Garmin Mobile PC can be purchased directly from Garmin and also through their distributors. iGuidance by iNav can be ordered directly from iNav, or via their distributors. DeLorme Street Atlas also is sold by DeLorme and by their resellers. And Microsoft is not an exception. I can buy Streets and Trips by walking into one of many of my local stores, or I can shop for the best price online and I can buy it from a variety of online retailers. And I also have the option to buy it directly from Microsoft.
P.S. I don't actually think Microsoft sells the boxed version of S&T2010 at the moment. I think you can only download it and pay for a license. But double check on that before you do decide to buy from the Microsoft store. Also look around, as you may find better deal elsewhere (as Microsoft doesn't compete on price with it's own distributors. You have to pay full price, as far as I can see.

Nonsense! This is standard practice. if retailers want to, they can always discount the product and pick up volume.

Re: Review: Microsoft Streets and Trips
Yeah, I feel your pain. Each year Microsoft Canada releases Streets & Trips several weeks after the U.S. launch .
Hopefully it will become available very soon!

Anon125;
Standard retail practice is to hold off ordering the newest release until stock of the older releases is depleted past the reorder point so that they maximize there return on the older stock before they start the newer release.
