Hi saint, and welcome to the forum. If you just want the product key to activate the 60-day free trial, you may be able to purchase it via the Microsoft online store. However, while it may be a convenient way of buying the code online, you may find that when you shop around for Streets & Trips (the boxed version), some stores may sell it much cheaper.

Re: Review: Microsoft Streets and Trips
I am new to site in last 2 days and just purchased 2010 S/T.
I have it installed on HP Netbook running Windows 7 and no problems.
I have a Nuvi 350 that works great for local drives however I like Streets and Trips 2010 for longer runs that I plan on with my 5ver camper.
I have installed the poi mega file and love the possibillities.
I have also downloaded some poi from poi factory and used the poi editor to save as GPX files and imported into my new template. I then created a route to Gettysburg PA and saved it as Gettysburg .est file
All is good now
Like in the new 2010 S/T program

Re: Review: Microsoft Streets and Trips
I've been looking for a good solution for an individual OTR driver that is in laptop mode. I have a wish for truck routing with Streets & Trips.

Hi martini, and welcome to the forums. While Streets & Trips doesn't automatically create truck routes, it still is (imho) the best solution for truckers. Plot a route from A to B in Streets & Trips, then modify the route the way you want. You will likely find the modifying of routes in Streets & Trips is easier than in any other product.

Re: Review: Microsoft Streets and Trips
And add the MEGA POI file to Streets and Trips.
http://www.laptopgpsworld.com/micros...travelers.html
It has low bridge POI and many many other great POI's
Once you create a truck route, just save it for next time if using same route.
Save and edit as many as you need and give it a name
Only thing I dont like is the reciever cable is too short that comes with S/T. I may look into another reciever or longer cable

Re: Review: Microsoft Streets and Trips
thanks. I downloaded Streets & Trips 2010 trial, along with Truck Stops Plus 2010. Does the full version allow for full screen travel? The trial version I have has that button grayed out. Am heading out sometime today. Will let everyone know how this week went. Also, I've the USB reciever that came with CoPilot. It's model# is BU-353. Sorry, for brand name it just says CoPilot on the front. The cord is very sufficient, about 5' long.

Re: Review: Microsoft Streets and Trips
The full screen button will be grayed out until you have plotted a route in GPS mode. That is only time I see that it is avalable.

Re: Review: Microsoft Streets and Trips
I hope this is not a repeat question but did not take the time to read the previous 18 pages
Is there any difference between the version that comes in the box versus
the downloaded version?
Or which one is better to use?

Re: Review: Microsoft Streets and Trips
I bought the BOX version with receiver and have no CD drive in NETBOOK so Microsoft said download trial version and then unlock to full version using the licence key. I believe the trial version is the same but will time out

Re: Review: Microsoft Streets and Trips
There is no difference except you must purchase an activation code for the download version once the trial period has expired.

I originally bought the box version and was glad to have the disc when I did a clean install of Win7. Maybe it's just as easy to download the second time, I don't know. I had no problem reinstalling with disc.

The only time I see it available is after I click on the "[Dangerous distraction legal stuff yadda yadda] I agree" button after plotting a route and asking for "provide navigation", which in turn is only available when there's both an actual GPS location and a route planned.

Re: Review: Microsoft Streets and Trips
Thank you again to the sponsers .
I have made a trip from east central Florida to east central Alabama. My CR-V and I survived. I need to read the wish list to confirm some concerns. I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of use of this application.
First note: Newton's Law of Motion Applies to laptops that are not securely fastened. I started out with the laptop on the passenger seat. On the interstate, I placed the laptop behind the 5-speed against the dash. All was well until I accelerated from my first start. lol
A funny thing happened in Atlanta. I had a point marked on the by-pass. Just before I made it to the by-pass, I received traffic warnings for the I-285 exit back onto I-20. I drove through to I-75 & I-20. I received recalcute messages until I reached Douglasville. I figured eventually my auto-cop ilot would give up and move on. There was no way I was going to adjust the route in the middle of Atlanta. This does bring up a question. What is the difference between a stop and a push button? Why do people use push buttons?
More to come. Again, thank you to the sponsor and members of this blog.
