Default Deleting an avoided area in Streets and Trips 2008

For some reason my Microsoft Streets and Trips 2008 has some of the major downtowns areas marked as avoided. I've tried to delete these avoided areas by going by what the help tells me to do and it won't delete them. What am I missing? I've got deliveries in some of these areas and it makes it very hard to route my trips.
Thanks in advance.

Peter, Avoid Areas created by users in Microsoft Streets and Trips can be deleted by first selecting the avoid area by mouse clicking on it, and then pressing the Delete button on the keyboard. Alternatively, instead of using the Del-key, you may right-click the selected avoid area, and then from the menu that opens you may select 'Cut'.

Marvin, I tried what you told me to and also what the help says to do and still no dice. I never have added these areas as avoided. The areas in question are downtown areas of San Antonio and Shreveport, La. There is a yellow square around these areas and I can't remove them. Every time I try to plan a route into these areas it tells me that these are set as avoided and to un-avoid them, but just totally unsuccesful in doing so.

I've tried to set them as avoided and then un-avoid and still not working.

T'aint nothing major, just a minor pain in the back-side

Peter, is there a possibility that you imported a template into your Microsoft Streets and Trips 2008 from a prior version of S&T that you or someone else had set these areas as avoid? I am assuming that you have your resources for truck navigation and trip planning in some kind of format that works for you.
