Marvin, that's good to hear.

Ironically, the version that I am using is one of the older versions. As I rely heavily on pushpins, I have fairly big files that bog down my processor when trying to display my movements. I found that as the ST Keys could do more, they also bogged down the processor and display.

I too just used the free trial program for the Construction Update, no extra file here... I hope to find that USB GPS somewhere, it looks pretty sweet... I wonder how well it would work with my laptop mounted in the centre of my truck?

I picked up my copy of S&T 2009 from Best Buy in Amherst, NY today... It was $75.00 for the Software / GPS combo (Pharos GPS-500 SIRF III), and $40.00 for the Software on its own... They had several copies of both on the shelf.

When I went to activate my free trial, there was an option to purchase it online... I didn't have an Internet connection at the time, so I don't know if that link was actually set up or not...

I received my copy in the mail yesterday from amazon.com. I am all set for another year or so.

* Wayne, no it's not set up the way some of us would expect . I only have 14 days left to go on my trial, so when I first read your posting earlier this morning, I though I would purchase it online via the link you mentioned. I hoped Microsoft was setup to sell activation codes. I was going to document my purchase with a series of screenshots, but unfortunately, when you click the link that reads "Buy Microsoft Streets & Trips online", you web-browser just opens Microsoft Streets & Trips product page. There you may see "Order now" buttons, but when you click those, a page opens that just lists S&T distributors. There is no way for people to just buy the activation code.

Oh, that's too bad Marvin... Maybe some sort of conflict with vendors if they sell it online? Don't you get a complimentary copy each year from Microsoft with all the hard work you put in coming up with improvement suggestions? I'm heading to Newark, NJ tomorrow, I could always pick up another copy for you...

The PR people asked me if I wanted the US version now, or the Canadian version later when it becomes available. I opted for the Canadian version. No rush. I suspect when the remaining 14 days of trial is over, my S&T will be home . But thanks for the offer, Wayne!

Wonder what the difference is between the Canadaian & US versions? Maybe the odd "Eh" gets thrown into the text to speech program... "Turn right on LePage Court eh!"...
