I need some help. I have downloaded Streets and Trips 2009 and laid out some trip routes on different maps and saved them. I would like to upload them to my Garmin Nuvi 360. Can this be done? If so, how do you do that. When I hook the Garmin to my desktop, it brings us a USB drive available. What type of file do I upload to my Garmin from S&T 2009? Any help would be appreciated. I'm real new at this.

Unfortunately, each company uses proprietary file types to store waypoints and routes. They are not directly transferrable for one program (such as Microsoft S&T) to another (Garmin Personal Navigation Device).
You might want to recreate the important pushpin locations you have in S&T as favourites on your 360. Then let the 360 create routes. They should be similar to what you are seeing on your computer in S&T. You should also familiarize yourself with Garmin's MapSource program. It has functionality on your computer similar to S&T for creating waypoints and routes and will talk directly to your 360. Terry |

retired_vol, you could experiment with 3rd party applications, such as GPS Babel, or others. They are listed in List of free software helpful to Microsoft Streets and Trips users.

Thanks for the info. I will look at some of the conversion programs to see if they will work. Trying to recreate the points in the Garmin is not feasible as I have 10 of them to do every day. What we are doing is setting the salesperson routes one day for the next day. We then want to load them into the Garmin's for the next day. The salesperson don't have laptops as they carry a scanner to put their orders in.

After you've had a chance to play with the various programs, please do tell us if you've found a workable solution. Good luck!

If you need to use Nuvis in this situation, you should be using Garmin MapSource to set up the routes instead of S&T. Then, no conversion would be necessary.
